Horary Astrology -- the Kobe Bryant incident

Horary astrology has ancient roots, was used to answer important questions when only kings had personal natal charts. Only the Magi, the ancient wise men and astrologers, knew the birth data knew the birth data of kings before most kings could even read and write. Horary astrology is still important today for answering questions, and the birth data of the people involved is still not required.

Remember back in 2003 when the Kobe Bryant scandal erupted? A desk clerk in a famous hotel near Aspen where Kobe was staying accused him of raping her. My advanced astrology class and I wanted to investigate the situation. So we ran an horary chart to answer four related questions: 1) did he rape her; 2) would he be prosecuted; 3) would he go to jail; 4) what really happened in a classical she-said, he-said situation.

For each question you must have at least three yes or three no results before you can say the question is answered. so we tackled each question individually and received resounding and definite answers. Did he rape her? No. Would he be prosecuted? No. Would he go to jail? No.

So what did happen? First, we took the horary chart and treated it as an incident chart. It indicated that the desk clerk was not telling the whole truth; neither was Kobe. The next step was to glean from the newspaper and sports magazine accounts the time the desk clerk said she went to Kobe's room and used it to run another incident chart showed what was going on at that time, in that place. It definitely showed that the clerk went to his room with sex and money on her mind -- even if it wasn't her primary reason for going up there. Maybe any young woman would have fantasized about having sex with such a dynamic young man, and what that might lead to, even though he was married. I don't know. I don't know. I do know Kobe sized the moment up as a sexual opportunity, and acted upon it. The events played out so that both of them achieved their thoughts. They had sex, and she eventually settled for an undisclosed amount of money to drop the whole thing.

Undoubtedly there were other factors which figured into what happened that night, but we had enough to give us definite answers to the questions we asked.

Next time I will begin to explore a local incident in which an 8-year-old-boy was accused of murdering his father and the man who rented a room from him.

Living in Balance

Okay, I admit it, the astrologer was not paying attention to her own personal astrology.

Transiting Mars was in hard angles both to my natal sixth house and to my natal Uranus in Gemini. We're talking about a possible accident in which my ribs would be injured.

So what happened? I'm raising a young orange tomcat who is absolutely adorable and a stink pot at the same time. When my granddaughter Nicole gave him to me for Christmas she provided a small open litter box and set it up in what she calls "her" bathroom in my house. She even put carpet on the floor one year. Young Dennis the Menace Cat has a ball digging in his litter box, flinging the litter everywhere. I swear he has hind legs as strong as a jackrabbit!

I do not like walking on cat litter, so I put newspaper on the floor under his box, leaving it extending 6-8 inches all around. Then I went in that bathroom looking for my blow dryer which Nicole had borrowed. I was thinking about getting my hair dried instead of how slick newspaper can be when you have 2 or 3 thicknesses of it, or that when you get some cat litter in between the layers they act like tiny ball bearings. I slipped on the newspaper and pitched head first into the bathtub, striking my ribs against the edge of the tub. Ouch!!

Nothing was broken, but those ribs really hurt. So much so that I haven't been able to sit in front of the computer to post to this blog until today. Mars and Uranus are both associated with accidents. When they are square each other, it's almost a certainty. So shame on me for not taking the time to check the transiting planets against my natal chart. I know better. No excuses. Just the circumstance that I was anxious to start writing on my book. Go to the Birthing A Book blog on blogspot.com or to my astrologyandselfhealing website and click on that blog which is my journal about writing this book.

No excuses, just an explanation of why I haven't made a posting recently.

Do you know what the three parameters for maintaining your balance are?
Your inner ear, your eyes and your feet. If you have a cold or a sinus infection the proper operation of your inner ear can be impaired. If you wear bifocals your sight is often impaired, causing you to stumble. If you are diabetic the feeling in your feet is impaired which can also cause to to stumble. If you're fortunate enough to have all three conditions then caution is your watchword. Be careful, pay attention to where you're putting your feet.

I know that sounds like a pain in the butt, but let me assure you that pain (or inconvenience) is much less than having your ribs protest loudly at almost every move you make -- for weeks. Look at it as the importance of living in the now, being conscious of everything you are doing now instead of thinking about either past or future events.
